Meet the Capulet Team

Capulet Books is an online collaboration created between two like-minded romance readers and their love of the madly romantic. This store is proudly woman and latina owned. With nearly a thousand books in their combined libraries, there’s no book left unturned in their path. 

First-time bookstore owners and co-founders Angelica and Marissa digitally opened CB on February 4th, 2023 after many hours of gushing over romance books and discussing the lack of representation among indie booksellers in their hometown. Along with their starter idea of blind date with a book, the duo aims to open their brick and mortar to fill the gap of their hometown.

Angelica

Angelica, a forever cat person, rediscovered her love of reading in 2020, but didn’t truly fall back in love with the romance genre until 2022. Now she is constantly chasing the high her 12-year-old self experienced reading about a certain rainy town in Washington. Angelica has never met a romance genre or trope she didn’t love. Enemies to lovers, forced proximity, or fake dating - all have found a home on her bookshelf. Aside from books, Angelica has a penchant for artisanal cocktails and long days at museums attempting to flex her degree in Art History.

Marissa

Marissa has been a professional photographer by trade for eleven years and a coffee lover for the last eight. Recently awarded her MA in Managing Archaeological Sites from University College London, Marissa’s life is a constant battle of exploring new cities and exploring new stories. While her love for reading doesn’t have any specific parameters, ranging anywhere from rom-cons and fantasy to literary fiction and historical non-fiction; she’s a little pickier with her tropes than her Capulet co-founder. Her favorite romance sub genre is sport romance (hockey usually 😉), and her favorite pastimes are thrifting and daydreaming about faraway travels.
